Year 1:

If you’re interested in pursuing a career in the sports industry, the Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Sport can provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed. This Level 4 qualification is comprised of 120 credits and is designed to offer career planning support and opportunities for career enhancement.

Throughout your studies, you’ll have access to an array of resources, including in-depth
input from lecturers, tutors, and guest speakers who are all specialists in the field of Sport. This will allow you to gain valuable insights into the industry, as well as the latest trends and developments.

The HNC consists of eight units, covering topics such as physical activity, lifestyle and
health, the sports landscape, project management, activity leadership, inclusive sport, sports marketing, technology in sport, and work exposure. By completing these units, you’ll develop a deep understanding of the sports industry and the skills needed to succeed in a variety of roles.

Year 2:

Year 2 of our higher education programme will take your knowledge and skills in sport to the next level. The Higher National Diploma (HND) is a Level 5 qualification that consists of 240 credits. With a multidisciplinary approach, you’ll dive into the principles of sports science and coaching that are essential to enhancing athletic performance. Throughout the course, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a diverse range of units, ranging from the research project to sport-specific nutrition. You’ll also delve into important topics such as physical literacy, health and society, as well as personal and professional development.

With an HND in sport, you’ll be well equipped to take your place in the exciting and diverse world of sports management, coaching, or fitness.
